Profile of the maintainer of agroforestry yards in the community of Cucurunã, Santarém-PA

Agroforestry quintals are traditional systems that result from knowledge accumulated and passed
down through generations; they consist mainly of fruit trees, medicinal plants and small
animals. The objective of this study was to diagnose the profile of the maintainers of agroforestry
yards in the community of Cucurunã, in the municipality of Santarém-Pará. The interviews
were made responsible in each yard, totaling the total of 10 maintainers in total, one for each
yard. The application of the questionnaire was performed following the “guided tour” method,
where each owner, during the course in the yard answered the questions asked by the interviewers.
Of the interviewees, 7 were female and only 3 were male. The age of the interviewed
individuals ranged from 85 to 26 years old, 10% were less than 40 years of age, 60% were
aged between 42 and 59 years and 30% were over 60 years old. Among the 10 quintals visited,
fruit species predominated In 100%.
