Consumers of organic food: a study on the family farm in the West of Pará Federal University in Santarém – PA

The objective of this work was to analyze the consumer of organic foods from the Family Agriculture
Fair held at the Federal University of the West of Pará in the city of Santarém - PA.
From the application of questionnaires were investigated in the research variables associated
with the characteristics of the consumer and the purchase of organic foods. The collected data
were analyzed through descriptive analysis. Research has pointed out that the main reasons for
buying organic foods are healthy life expectancy and well being. The holding of the fair at Ufopa
promotes an environment of integration between the academic community and family farmers.
