Effect of different proportions of organic substrates in the germination of papaya seeds (carica papaya L.)
Keywords:
treatments, Speed, test of varianceAbstract
Papaya has several purposes from its use as fresh fruit to industrialized products. In this way
the objective of the work is to calculate the rate of seed germination of papaya (Carica papaya
L.) on different substrates. The experiment was done in DIC, with 4 (four) treatments and 4
(four) replicates with 25 (twenty five) seeds per replicate. The IVG, Variance Test and Tukey
were calculated at a 5% level. The treatment that obtained the highest average of IVG was
composed of 50% decomposed wood and 50% sawdust, being the most indicated to increase
the germination index of papaya seeds in the short term. According to the variance test and
Tukey, the treatments mean did not show significant differences at 5% level.
