The internet in a creation of short chains and an approximation between consumer and farmer - the case of Rede Raízes da Mata

Abstract

The internet has contributed significantly to the expansion of marketing processes in rural areas,
once it has been appropriate in order to boost the gains in this context. On the other hand,
this process contributes to providing healthy alternatives for food. In this report, we want to
present how the internet tends to enhance direct contact between consumer and farmers, encouraging
the local market and maximizing the network of contacts between them. The Rede
Raízes da Mata has provided consumers with direct access for agroecological food basis in
municipality of Viçosa - MG, located in the Zona da Mata Mineira.
