Abstract

The Community Agroecological Horticulture arises from the idea of building a space for interaction between the academic community of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro and the need to transform the physical spaces into agroecological production units, since they were not assigned use. Not only with an integrating bias but also based on didactic pedagogical and extensionist aspects, the creation of the community vegetable garden has adopted a participatory methodology among those involved in order to promote agroecology in community spaces. However, this experience has led to closer social and environmental relations among the agents involved, being reflected in the process of professional training of students.
