Characterization of the use and management of agroforestry yards in the rural area of Belterra, Mojuí dos Campos and Santarém, Pará

Abstract

The objective of this research was to perform a characterization about the use and management
in agroforestry yards in the rural area of the Municipalities of Belterra, Mojuí dos Campos and
Santarém, State of Pará. In this research 25 agroforestry farms were sampled in the communities
of São Jorge, Garrafão, Cipoal, São Raimundo and Irurama, located in the rural area with
data collection through a semi-structured interview and visitation in loco backyard. The agroforestry
quintals of the studied rural areas showed a very diversified floristic composition with
a predominance of fruit species due to their important role in family feeding and arboreal habit,
promoting shading and comfort, and even with reduced management practice the index of pathologies
was low indicating The species found to be resistant to pests and diseases.
