Abstract

Brazil ranks the 4th position in banana production woldwide. This production it has been affected due to causes of diseases. The bigger of them is anthracnose, caused by the fungus Colletotrichum musae. The symptoms are characterized through the dark and depressed injuries in the peel of the fruit. This paper aimed testing essential oils effect of Mentha arvensis and Eucalyptus citriodora in the pathogen development. The isolated was obtained through lesions typical of the attack of fungus in banana. The experiment was performed in vitro, using 5 concentrations (0, 50, 100, 500 e 1000 ppm) from two oils mixed to culture medium BDA (Potato-Dextrose-Ágar), being analyzed this oil effects in percentage of inibition mycelial growth (PIC). For the tests performed, was possible observe the mycelial growth of fungus Colletotrichum musae. Observe that the oil Mentha arvensis presented a significant control concentrations of 500 ppm and 1000 ppm. Stands out also oil Eucalyptus citriodora what listen only control concentration of 1000 ppm.
