The TEIA is a University Extension Program, created in 2004, at the Federal University of Viçosa.
In this text, we present the experience of the TEIA Program as a space for the formation,
consolidation and affirmation of agroecological knowledge. For these purposes, we did documentary
and bibliographic research to identify academic productions about the TEIA experience,
using the technical procedures of the Content Analysis Method. In its 13 years of existence,
the TEIA Program has contributed to the articulation of several projects aimed at training in
agroecology and the social transformation of reality, based on dialogue and exchange between
the university and the collective subjects of the countryside and the city. We can affirm that
coherent to a perspective of transforming education, the TEIA has made viable diverse learning
in the scope of the popular agroecology and the education of the country.
