Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe the performance of the Timbó Group of Agroecology,
of the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences/UNESP - Botucatu, as well as its importance in the
training of agrarian professionals. In order to discuss a model of agriculture different from that
presented at the university, some students of the student´s movement of the agrarians in the
90s joined and gave rise to the group. Through the participation in events and articulation with
professionals in the area, regional farmers and other institutions of Botucatu, the group has
formed a network and has gained recognition at the university and in the region. The group
has always been active, participating and articulating team work, courses, workshops, with a
constant renewal of the members, but always looking for na agroecological formation and intregration
of the axes teaching, research and extension in the group´s actions.
