Abstract

The present study came to the answers of a group of ten farmers interviewed about their practices on their estates, located in a settlement area, in the municipality of Terenos-MS. The objective was to ascertain the main pests and diseases that they identified in the production chain and to make a survey of the techniques used in the management, focusing on identifying whether or not the use of pesticides and their derivatives and agroecology existed. As main results it was identified that, although some settlers still use aggressive techniques, using toxic products, 50% of these already use alternative methods that have efficacy. Raising the challenge for us educators, to disseminate the knowledge and practices that already exist in the establishment itself, in the perspective of reaching a larger group of agroecology adepts.
