The Importance of Cerrado Fruits in Food

The native fruits of the Cerrado are worth noting, are still not well known by the population in general. It is an important food source, nutritional, have several nutrients and beneficial substances to health. As a source of income, it participates in the cultural richness of traditional peoples, especially settled, indigenous and family farmers in central Brazil. During the event "Environment Week Campo Grande Campus, with the theme; "Regional Biotemas and Ecological Awareness" from June 4 to 9, 2018, a lecture was given on "The Importance of Cerrado fruits in food". The workshops were given with the purpose of demonstrating the possibilities of elaborating revenues such as; cake, bread, jam and biscuits. It was used in the recipes pulp of baru, bocaiuva, guavira and tarumã. Participants were students and external audiences, there were tastings of the products participating in the biscuit workshop of baru. The revenues can be elaborated for own consumption and also as income generation, when commercialized, thus contributing, in the sustainable development of the families of extractivist communities and settlements, contributing to the diversification of food products of the Cerrado.
