Abstract

The objective of the article is to explain how peasant production occurs in the Agrarian Reform settlement of São Judas. The São Judas settlement, which is located in Rio Brilhante MS, was divided into groups and has 187 lots, where families live and produce, both for consumption and for sale. The settlers have diversified productions, but most of them have as their main source of income milk production, followed by tillage and beef cattle, besides this main source of income they have diversified plantations for the consumption of the family and end up selling the surplus. Something very marked in the settlers is the strong connection with the land, and the desire to produce healthy food for the family food, another strong point and that the work is carried out around the family workforce. As methodology was used interviews through a semi-structured questionnaire with 10 families from the settlement.
