Abstract

The objective of this work is to report on the experiences of the 14th Fair of Native Seeds and Criollo and Agroecological Products in the municipality of Juti-MS, together with the women from the Canaã settlement of the municipality of Bodoquena-MS. The Fair of Juti has among the objectives to provide the recovery, valorization of native and native agricultural seeds; stimulate agro-ecological food production and the exchange of experiences and knowledge. The Neotropical Foundation of Brazil and ICMBIO, both from Bonito-MS, participated in the event with a group of women from the Women and Agroecology project: social practices as a perspective for sustainable rural development in the Canaã Settlement. During this period I was undergoing internship at the Foundation, having the opportunity to accompany the group in Juti. With the participation in the Fair Juti I was able to confirm the importance that events of this genre have for the communities that make use of the creole seeds and for those who are looking to start an agricultural production with bases agroecologies, making use of the creole seeds. Another important point is the opportunity that the participants have to increase their knowledge about the issues that involve agroecology, with the offer of courses and workshops. And as an extension, it allows us to acquire knowledge and experiences that we do not have access to at university, thus contributing to professional training and especially to our growth as human beings, allowing us to broaden the world view.
