Abstract

This work analyzed the aspects of resocialization for the prisioners through the labor activity
using as a tool the use of educational community gardens in the promotion of the process of
social emancipation. The gardens were executed in the internal and external perimeters of the
Public Penitentiary of Bananeiras-PB. Participated eight prisioners of the closed regime who
received training for the development of gardens in an agroecological perspective. The objective
was to observe the points that involve the reintegration of prisioners from an agroecological
perspective through of the vegetables production and data collection through the qualitative
approach with those involved. It was concluded that the remuneration is not a highlight factor
for the prisioners, the most important aspects were: remission of sentence; the improvement of
food and the occupation of time and mind.
