Abstract

Sustainable extractivism plays an important role in the economic and social formation of the states and the country. In Mato Grosso do Sul, the Cerrado originally covered more than 60% of the state, but today only 17% remain, thus, stimulating and enhancing the sustainable use of the Cerrado's socio-biodiversity constitutes a fundamental strategy for the conservation of the few remnants that still exist . This work aimed to evaluate the socioeconomic and environmental sustainability of agroextractivist family members of the Lagoa Grande settlement, in the municipality of Dourados MS through MESMIS. The study was carried out with twenty families that are associated with the Sabores do Cerrado Association of Lagoa Grande Settlement, Itahum District, Dourados, MS. For the evaluation of the areas, indicators were used based on the MESMIS method - Assessment Framework of Natural Resource Management Systems Incorporating Indicators. From the indicators evaluated, the social indicators were the ones that received the best scores, thus demonstrating that the sustainable extractivism and the commercialization of the products in the university, significantly improved the quality of life of the members of the Association Sabores do Cerrado Lagoa Grande Settlement. Through the indicators evaluated, it can be concluded that the conscientious extractivism, through social technologies developed by the solidarity economy in the municipality of Dourados, promotes sustainability for the Family Agriculture of Rural Settlements of the Cerrado as it preserves the biological and socio-cultural diversity, promotes fair trade and solidarity, combat inequality, promote creativity, cooperation, alignment and respect for the cycles of providing nature.
