Abstract

The present work deals with an account that aims to share experiences, from April 2018 to the present moment, at the Agricultural Institute of Minor - IAME, located at Cel. Juca de Matos Highway, Km 15, district of Picadinha, Dourados - MS. IAME is a civil association, in private rights, for philanthropic purposes, non-profitable and of indefinite duration. Its statutory purpose is to welcome children and adolescents from age of eight to seventeen, who are at risk and vulnerable or are orphans, offer temporary and exceptional shelter under protection measures. The actions developed at IAME aim to collaborate in the restructuring of the IAME’s garden from organic practices and involving the inner minors in this process, and from these practices transform the action of construction of the garden into an opportunity to develop skills and competencies for the practice of organic agriculture, healthier for them and less aggressive for the environment, besides making them able to work for their sustenance, an aid to the promotion of their economic and psycho-emotional emancipations. The results, although partial, show that the objectives are being achieved.
