Abstract

Agroforestry systems in urban and peri-urban areas contribute to improve the environmental
quality of cities. Agroforestry associate multiple uses in the same territory, such as the conservation
of urban green areas, protection of springs, food production and income generation.
The experience reports the stages of elaboration of the environmental recovery project of a
forest fragment, through the use of Agroforestry. The area is located in the Federal University
of ABC campus, São Bernardo do Campo - São Paulo. The integration of previously dispersed
initiatives in the community, resulted in the collective construction of a proposal that associates
the recovery of degraded area, agroecological production and environmental education.
