Abstract

The pequi holds a high potential during the collection period, the extractive activities generate temporary jobs that assure part of the sustenance of the populations that live around the chapada. Under an economic aspect, it is associated with the development of socio-cultural identities between traditional populations and the plants targeted for this extractivism. The objective of this study was to evaluate ecosystem services and agrobiodiversity of the extractive activity of pequi in the municipality of Crato-CE In the methodology used, the study was carried out through the application of questionnaires, proposing investigations of researches with the main purpose of delineation or analysis of characteristics of field research facts being of qualitative and quantitative nature and exploratory character. Even though it is an activity that has a strong impact on the local situation of the families belonging to the communities around the Araripe Plateau, extractive activity is at serious risk in the face of current collect patterns. In this sense, the research allowed to conclude that pequi extractivism is an activity that contributes to the generation of income for the families of the Araripe plateau. Such practices have a primordial relation in the ecosystem services and maintenance of the agrobiodiversity and the sustainability of the partner environmental.
