Abstract

The objective of the present work is to present a discussion about the way of acting and influence of the woman in the agricultural environment of the community of Vila Nova, Capanema - PA. The research was carried out in the Community of Vila Nova located 26 km from the municipality of Capanema on the banks of PA 448 and is made up of 40 families, which are mostly based on family farming. Data were acquired through the analysis of questionnaires and interviews with 20 community residents, 15 women and 5 men. Through the analysis, the results obtained during the interviews conducted in the community, it was possible to verify some characteristics of the woman 's performance in the family agriculture of the region. The majority of the community live in agricultural activities, which are part of their life trajectory. The desire for a better life moves these women to pursue their dreams and project it. This woman has been gaining more and more prominence in the agricultural community because of her acceptability of the new, because she is not afraid of change, making her the main agent of the Vila Nova community.
