Abstract

The use and occupation of the soil plays a fundamental role in the urban expansion, since it guarantees an organized and planned occupation of the urban area aiming at the environmental, social and economic parts. This urban expansion has impacted the environment of the urban basins, increasing the nutrient concentrations altering some parameters such as biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P). In order to identify this impact in the surroundings of the Anhanduí River basin, georeferencing was used to collect data related to the properties belonging to the basin, and thematic maps of the Anhanduí River basin were elaborated, which belongs to the urban perimeter of the city of Campo Grande, Mato Grosso thematic maps addressed the concentration of each of the nine classes that each property was classified according to the Municipal Department of Environment and Urban Management (SEMADUR). Using a Geographic Information System (GIS) environment, the map algebra tool was used to combine the concentrations of the properties taking into account their polluting potential and obtained a summary map of the diffuse pollution of the basin. This synthesis map showed a Pearson correlation of 0.68, a moderate correlation when compared to the water quality index (WQI) along the basin.
