Abstract

The paper presents partial results of the research project Urban Agriculture at “M’Boi Mirim
Research Station”, which works on territorially based vulnerabilities and involves an interdisciplinary
team from three universities. The research analyzes the development of urban agriculture
in Jardim Angela and Jardim São Luís, located in the M’Boi Mirim region, in the South
Zone of São Paulo, its functions in the territory, social practices and income generation. The
central objective is to map the existing initiatives and prospect opportunities for complementary
induction of actions on various private and collective use of spaces for agroecological food
production in the region.
