Agroecological experience with farmers of Agroecological Fair of UFRJ from the interaction of the extension projects MUDA e Capim Limão

Abstract

The present paper has the objective to describe experiences lived at the farmer’s property that
participate in the Agroecological Fair of Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). They
happened on the Microbacia do Fojo in Guapimirim - RJ, and were organized by a working
group of extension projects from UFRJ (MUDA and Capim Limão). They had as target audience
the “prosumidores” (interested consumers) of the fair in the university city, and in addition
other participants of the extension projects involved. The principles of agroecology are the
base of the organization and planning of these experiences, where the first concern is to attend
the farmer’s demands to their respective property, reaching the proximity to participative and
constructive methodologies, seeking actions that favour a proximation between the farmer’s
knowledge and the academic community.
