Abstract

The production of waste is one of the great problems of the urban environment and this problem
is further aggravated by the absence of selective collection, since many of these residues
could be reused as in the case of organic waste. Thus, one of the objectives of the program is
the creation of a demonstration unit of black fly larvae (Hermetia illucens) Using organic waste
from the college restaurant. The flies were raised in the quails area of the Federal University of
Southern and Southeastern Pará. The buckets of 18-liter butter were used for the experiment,
and in each compost three buckets were used, one above the other Being that the bottom
one receives the leachate and the overhangs for the creation of the fly. It can be seen from
experiments already carried out that the production of larvae of the black soldier fly is viable
for Marabá.
