Keywords:
agroecological transition, healthy food, social organization, popular educationAbstract
In the August 6th farm field activities of dairy, orchard and cheese production are carried out
between social organizations and interdisciplinary technical teams with agroecological approach.
The work began in 2003 with the goal of food self-production and popular organization.
Until 2011 a conventional production was carried out. Then, a process of agro-ecological transition
was initiated, which allowed, through participatory work (based on the popular education
and the solidarity-social economy approach) the productive reconversion of this farm. Since
the work of these years, “August 6th” farm has not only supported the people who work in it,
but also has become a didactic, demonstrative and experimental unit oriented to foment and
strengthen the agroecological approach in the students of Agricultural Engineering, primary
and secondary school students and small family farmers in the periurban region.
