Abstract

The present work aims to report the lived experiences by the school community of
the Federal Institute of Brasilia - Campus São Sebastião throughout the implementation phase
of an agroforestry system (AFS) installed in the Institution. Stand out practices agroecological
like ground cover, drip irrigation, green adubation and consortium of agricultural and forestry
crops as the main activities of the developed by the working group which brought together
teaching students and popular agents from the external community. They´ve been used 43
distinct species distributed in 22 botanical families, characterizing the (AFS) like biodiverse. The
results of the experiment were satisfactory, since not only the productive technical objectives
but especially socio-environmental mobilization and community empowerment were essential
to achieve success throughout the process.
