Implementação do Núcleo de Agroecologia do Cerrado Mineiro-NACEM: relato da promoção da agroecologia em Monte Carmelo-MG

Abstract

This report is the result of the work of a group of professors, students and farmers linked to the Federal University of Uberlandia (UFU), Monte Carmelo campus, State the Minas Gerais. The experience has been developed in the fields of teaching, research and extension aimed at the dissemination of agroecology. The Center for Studies in Agroecology of Cerrado Mineiro (NACEM) was effectively implemented in 2015 and aims to establish an agroecological unit for practical demonstration for family farmers, as well as to contribute to the training of students in the agroecological perspective; promote a face-to-face qualification course for training multipliers; encourage family farmers to implement agroecological systems that ensure the food quality and safety in the region covered by the project, and produce pedagogical courseware that aims to contribute to the formation of a society committed to organic and agroecological agriculture. Knowledge has generated exchanges of experiences among teachers, students and farmers, making everyone collectively construct a comprehensive embracing knowledge of agroecology.
