Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the Italian type squash economic viability and cabbage in intercropping and monoculture. The experiment was conducted from May to November 2015. The design was a randomized block with six treatments and six repetitions, totaling 36 instalments. The treatments were: single squash with weed, single squash without weeding, single cabbage with weeding, single cabbage without weeding, squash + cabbage with weeding, squash + cabbage without weeding. In general, the treatments without weeding showed lower values of total operating costs. The treatments without weeding showed lower TOC values. All arrangements, both monocultures and intercropping with and without weeding, showed a profit and high rates of return and profitability index. The products presented commercial quality to industry standards.
