Abstract

Considering the importance of the dialogue between scientific and academic knowledge and the knowledge of peasant families for agroecological innovation, the research aimed to identify strategies that can accelerate this integration, with positive impacts on local development. The methodology consisted of the identification of families in agroecological transition and their experiences in incorporating new approaches. This identification was made considering indicators that show the degree of transition that the experiences are and the strategies that have propelled them to this level of evolution. The results showed that the involvement of the whole family is decisive for innovation. The insertion in environments of interaction and in exchanges of knowledge also potentiate the capacity of innovating of the family. It was concluded that the formation of networks of knowledge exchanges can provoke the awakening to the process of agroecological innovation in the agrarian reform peasantry of the Southern Territory Sergipano.
