Abstract

At the end of 2016 from initiative of the University of Brasilia and partners, it was proposed
to the Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Distrito Federal the nucleation of network for researching
in water. Topics related to agriculture, and use of innovative technologies for water
treatment, well-being of population and the protection of the environment. This network formed
of researchers from the Universities of Brasilia (UnB), MatoGrosso (UFMT), Goiás (UFG) and
Minas Gerais (UFMG), Embrapa and others collaborators from Secretaries of Environment and
Health of the Federal District, and Centers engaged in water research. The promising aspect
of this network is the integration of different fields of activity - involving chemists, physicists,
biologists, doctors, pharmacists and other specialists, all those adding efforts to creates an
interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary team. The objective of the EDUTEC-ÁGUA network is to
act in strategic target regions of water resources with impacts of agriculture and mining.
