Abstract

The goal of this work is to contribute with information for the development of an ex vitro propagation protocol for Eugenia involucrata and Acca sellowiana, characterized by having fleshy fruit, with natural distribution in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay, with great ecological, economic and social importance; underutilized and poorly conserved ex situ in Argentina. The results indicated that, in the case of Acca sellowiana, cuttings from juvenile stock plants and nodal position presented a 92% survival and 86% rooting, higher than those obtained from adult mother plants. In Eugenia involucrata, it was observed that the phytosanitary management of the mother plants, significantly improves the rooting and survival capacity of the rooted cuttings, with a 94% rooting in cuttings obtained from mother plants with phytosanitary care. From the results obtained, it can be noted that these species have a great potential for propagation, through a low-cost technology, which can be used in domestication and conservation programs.
