Abstract

The standard used during the modernization process was directed mainly to the expansion of the agroindustrial complexes, aiming at maximizing production and profit, leaving a little aside the quality and diversity of the products produced and being commercialized with the main objective of supplying the world . In this sense, this study aimed to evaluate the food security of family farmers, taking into account the different activities that they exercise. For this, the methodology chosen was a field survey using a questionnaire, composed of sixteen (16) subareas, among which are objective and descriptive questions, applied to 10 farming families. The production for self-consumption is the main responsible for generating the autonomy of the farmers, within the economic and social context, providing that the family group depends less and less on the external conditions of production.
