Abstract

The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of organic substrates stored during the three months period in the development of lettuce seedlings. The substrates evaluated were: Millicompost of 90 days (S1); Millicompost of 125 days (S2); Millicompost of 180 days (S3) and SIPA (S4) as control. Were taken samples from the substrates for analysis of pH, electrical conductivity and total macronutrient contents, all in triplicate. The lettuce sowing was done in a tray of 200 cells containing the four substrates to be tested. The design was a completely randomized design, with four replications, each replicate consisting of eight plants. The storage for a period of three months allowed changes in pH, electrical conductivity and macronutrient contents. The substrate S4 followed by the substrate S2, were those that presented the lettuce seedlings with better development.
