Abstract

One of the major problems of urban centers is the disposal of waste, the viability of which in
agriculture has been studied. Thus, this work aimed to know the potential of these residues
in the Panicum maximum culture, through the production of biofertilizer to understand how
their microorganisms and chemical composition respond to anaerobic fermentation. This was
diluted in water and sprayed on the leaf blades according to intervals between manures (8,
15, 21 and 30 days). Microbiological evaluations were carried out at the beginning and end of
the experiment through analysis of the urban waste, biofertilizer and leaf blade, respectively,
through the determination of fecal coliforms. The results for the presence of fecal coliforms in
the biofertilizer were inferior to the original material, reflecting on the effect of the fermentation
on these microorganisms, as well as, the indices in the leaf blades were low, due to the dilution
of the biofertilizer.
