Abstract

The objective of this study is to discuss the process of mapping and characterizing agriculture
in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte (RMBH) from 2013 onwards. It is noted that
agriculture is an emerging theme in the field of urban studies, mainly due to the scarcity of
systematized data and made available for public consultation. The accumulated experience
of the AUÊ! and their partners have demonstrated the importance of collective construction of
knowledge to better recognize the diversity of agricultural practices present in urban contexts.
