Abstract

The aim of this work is to report the experiences of NEADS – UFT at the 4th Tocantinense Meeting of Agroecology (TMA). To meet this aim, qualitative research techniques were adopted, with participant observation. The observations made during the meeting allowed a systemic look portraying the experience of the man from the field in his daily struggle. It is concluded that there is a cultural diversity in the social actors who practice agroecology in the state, such as indigenous people, quilombolas, quebradeiras de coco, riparian, family farmers, and that they have made possible in their communities the conservation of natural resources and generation income through this activity. Also worthy to note is the work of women and rural youth, which are of great value in the construction of agroecological processes.
