Abstract

The biochar is a material with high sorption capacity. It is believed that the incorporation this
material into the soil can reduce the risks of environmental contamination resulting from the
use of pesticides. In this research, the effects of the conditioning of soils with biochar were
evaluated by biological method. It was confirmed that the biochar increase the sorption capacity
of the soil, reduces the risk of leaching of the herbicide and mainly decrease its efficiency,
thus the biochar can be used as a tool for the recovery contaminated soils with pesticides.
