Abstract

The compost is a major source of agro-ecological based coffee systems. Composting requires time and labor, considered excessive by family farming. This research had with objective recommend an adequate dose of N as compared to the organic base of plant compounds (chopped banana and leaves of SAF´s). The experiment was installed in DBC, three replications and eight plants per plot, on the property of a family farmer, Ervália, MG. Increasing doses of N: 50, 150, 300 and 600 kg of N ha-1 of the organic mixture were tested. The productivity was evaluated in the years 2015, 2016 and 2015/2016 average. In all years there was a quadratic response of the productivity in function of N doses and the highest values were observed in 2015 year. The dose of N adequate to reach maximal yields varied with the year. The 439 kg N ha-1 dose of the tested mixture is sufficient to fertilize coffee plants in agro-ecological family-based systems.
