Abstract

The purpose of the Report was to establish an agro-ecological vegetable garden in a degraded area to function as a didactic space for the practical classes of the Graduate Students in Agroecology of the IFPB Campus Picuí and especially to encourage and awaken in students the importance of these classes, particularly on the discipline of Olericultura in that vegetables require greater care and observation from planting to harvesting and need special care in the irrigation part because they are sensitive plants. For the experience event, the students of the agroecology class were divided, each group being responsible for producing and preparing the beds for the implantation of vegetables and the post harvest distribution. The cultivation of vegetable gardens is one of the activities most inserted in the agroecological systems, since the vegetable gardens can be understood as a system of production of foods of vegetal origin in which can be produced in the background backyards, near the residences and in school environments like way of therapy , learning, and environmental education studies. As a result, the implementation of didactic gardens mixed with courses such as Agroecology in which the practical classes become beneficial and well used for both students and teachers who provide these didactic classes useful, as long as there is interaction of the students and especially cooperation and group work. In addition to being a didactic class we are making adaptations of species that is not typical of our climate and giving rise to creole seeds.
