Abstract

Agrochemicals, together with the various technological packages resulting from the green revolution,
have resulted in negative impacts on the whole ecosystem, especially with regard to
human health. Therefore, the objective of this review is to report the causal harm caused by
the use of agrochemicals in the health of the rural worker. Hazards are identified according to
the degree of exposure to chemical agents such as dizziness, vomiting, headache, symptoms
that perceptibly last a few days and over time brings many times irreversible damage, such
as hearing loss, miscarriage, Cancer, suicides and congenital diseases in newborns from the
exposure of their parents to agrochemicals. The agroecological management comes as an
alternative to a cleaner agriculture, taking into account the well being of every ecosystem, respecting
the environment, valuing traditional knowledge and a just society, providing quality of
life, health and income to farmers.
