Abstract

Due to the many harms brought on by aggressive production to the environment, with intense use of pesticides, it is necessary to search for sustainable ways to produce food, as well as awareness activities on the impacts of agrochemicals on health and the environment environment. A survey was conducted in E.E.E.F. Dr. Cunha Lima, in the municipality of Remígio / PB, where educational pamphlets on the subject of pesticides were distributed, followed by a questionnaire with the purpose of knowing the perception of 9th grade students, aged 13 to 16 years, about the use pesticides and their consequences. The results of the questionnaire indicated that a large part of the public is aware of the damages and risks brought about by the use of pesticides, which facilitates the work with the concept of Agroecology. This work points to the possibility of actions of environmental education and health education in schools, with the inclusion of the discussion on agroecology.
