Abstract

Interdisciplinary Traineeships Experience (ITE) originated in 1989 from experiences already developed by the Federation Brazilian Agronomy Students (FBAS) as an alternative to the traditional university-technical training model linked to a process of conservative "modernization" agriculture. Based on principles as the nonintervention and the collective living, the ITE brings the students closely to the brazilian rural reality and, with the inseparable relation between theory and practice, build an alternative for the practice of university extension and for the fortification of Agrarian Reform as a way of social transformation. This article try to organized by the Student Movement in partnership with the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) and the Landless Rural Workers Movement (LRWM) for the formation of critical professional and involved of the agrarian theme and of the agroecology construction inside and outside of the universities. The analysis points out that the EIVs play a central role in the training of critical professionals, who, starting from the experience of the harsh reality of families in the field, begin to construct agroecology as an alternative to overcoming this exclusionary and degrading model.
