Abstract

The proposal of the work is to explain why it would be very fruitful an approximation between both fields of research (Vegetarianism and Agroecology). In the first place a quick exposition is made of why these two themes converge to the same basic problems and how they should therefore be more connected. From these considerations we explore some possibilities of research for academics of several areas of knowledge, with emphasis given to the human sciences, being the author's specialty. It is concluded that Vegetarianism needs to be integrated into the field of Agroecology research, considering the solutions that the meatless food option can represent for the global food system.
