A qualitative research was carried out with a descriptive approach based on Paulo Freire 's dialogical pedagogy using the semi - structured interview instrument. Interviews were conducted with students from the final years of elementary school. The results pointed to the activities that contribute to the modification of students' habits and attitudes about their perception of nature. The study developed in the vegetable garden created the notion of solidarity, fundamental for working in groups and forming citizens capable of taking on new attitudes in the search for solutions to social and environmental problems.
