Abstract

The fauna of the soil is of great value for the litter-soil compartments, as it acts in important processes, such as organic matter fragmentation, decomposition and nutrient cycling. Exercising important functions in the physical attributes of the soil, responsible for the stability, fertility and percolation of water. The objective of this work was to evaluate the density and diversity of the edaphic fauna under straw of green manure in an Agroforestry System, in the Zona Sul Mata de Pernambuco. Green fertilizers, Vigna unguiculata, Canavalia ensiformis, Sorghum bicolor e Cajanus cajan were planted in the lines and between lines of perennial crops in four quadrants. Samplings using monolith were performed in summer and winter. The results indicate that the abundance of the fauna is altered by the type of green manure used, as well as the collection season also influences the variation of the number of individuals, species richness, Shannon and Pielou indexes
