Abstract

In recent years there has been a significant change in the rainfall regime in the Zona da mata
of Pernambuco, bringing challenges to the families of farmers, especially those of family production.
This work aims to analyze the social and ecological strategies of family farmers in face
of climate change in Lagoa do Itaenga - PE. Through a participatory approach, one can know
the quality of life of the family and the forms of production before the incorporation of agroecological
strategies , It can be inferred that agroecology was fundamental for the appropriation
of techniques for the incorporation of organic matter into the soil, and for the implementation
of the Agroforestry System, which made possible the continuity of water in the cacimbão that
supplies the property.
