Agrobiodiversity in the Rio Arari region, Itacoatiara-AM: its creole varieties

Abstract

The objective of the work in question was to carry out the survey of the populations corn, cassava and bean cabochon cultivated by traditional farmers in the region of the Arari River, Itacoatiara, in the search for local knowledge and varieties for in situ conservation. In the community are found a multitude of species with different varieties, many of these varieties besides entering the basis of the food diet of the community are also marketed as products or by-product. The methodology of Participatory Rural Diagnosis was used with the use of semi-structured dialogue, List of agrobiodiversity and employment of the classification matrix. Thus, we obtained 44 varieties of different species that are cultivated by the community.
