Family farming is the one that produces most of the food that goes to the table of the Brazilian population nowadays. After a long process of struggle, linked mainly to the Landless Workers' Movement (MST), for the right to land, many rural workers were given a space to develop their activities and to make a living. Despite this major step, other measures are needed to ensure that family farming is sustainable. This study seeks to approach family farming in fairs in the extreme south of Bahia, analyzing the concepts of agroecology and sustainability applied to the reality of these farmers. It seeks to understand the main difficulties faced by family farmers, the advances that have already occurred and the possible solutions to the current demands.
