The Comarca Ngäbe Bugle is the territory of the indigenous Ngäbe Buglé population in Panama.
In order to generate and validate in a participatory manner sustainability and resilience
indicators for the Ngäbe Buglé family agriculture, through a workshop seminar, were contextualized
and validated six (6) indicators corresponding to the sociocultural dimension, six (6)
of the environmental ecological dimension (4) of the productive technological dimension and
two (2) indicators of the financial economic dimension, for a total of 18 indicators and 73 variables.
For validation an evaluation scale adapted to local conditions was used. As a result, the
concept of sustainability was contextualized and indicators were generated that will be used to
evaluate the contribution of agroecological innovation to the environmental sustainability and
socio-ecological resilience of Ngäbe Buglé family agriculture to climate change.
