Abstract

This work is about the life and work experience of women and men who have been changing the reality in which they live in the "20 de Março" Agrarian Reform settlement, located in the municipality of Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul - considered the global locus of cellulose due to the vast monoculture of eucalyptus and pulp mills. It is precisely the siege of eucalyptus to peasant lands, coupled with the crisis of public policies in support of Agrarian Reform, that stimulated the protagonism of women in assuming production processes geared to the agroecological transition, such as horticulture. Posteriorly, the settlement counted on the participation of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) in the search for favorable commercialization alternatives through the stimulation of conscious consumption with the organization of Consumer Groups and Fair at the University.
