Rural Youth Residence - Field Education and Rural Youth: agroecological experiences in intervention projects of young peasants

Abstract

This article aims at exposing the experience of the Rural Youth and Rural Education Project
(MCTI / MDA-INCRA / CNPq Ed. N ° 19/2014), with reference to two intervention experiences
directed to agroecology carried out by rural youth In rural settlements in the Federal District
and surroundings. The intervention actions carried out by the young people were part of the
training cycles of the project that anticipated developing skills and professional capacity to
mobilize, articulate and put into action the values, knowledge and skills necessary for the best
performance of their social performance in the area of associativism and cooperativism in the
productive dimensions. Artistic-cultural, social and educational for a better performance and
intervention in the reality of rural / traditional communities and settlements. Young peasants
who participated in the project, between 15 and 29 years old, promoted intervention actions
in their communities focused on Sustainable Agroecological Practices and Community Vegetable
Garden of agroecological basis. Experience has shown that the collective work of the
young peasants together with the settlers / campers was fundamental to the success of the
intervention projects. Young people in the countryside had to reconcile conflicts and overcome
problems. The intervention actions allowed to show the political potential and mobilization of
the rural youth in the transformation of their realities.
